And the world stood still.....
Written and performed by Ellen Galkin
This piece was born in a moment when I realized that I would never see my mother or hear her voice again. It is basically a skeleton of the journey we took together with her cancer. The child's tin can telephone serves as both an instrument of communication and the umbilical cord that tied us together, until she left my side.

'WHAT'S WRONG'
Written and performed by Annabel Lee
"I created this performance at Massart when I was a student there a few years ago. It is a spiritual piece to me. It was written with the notion that in times of great pain and suffering we as fragile, warm blooded, emotional beings, can lose touch with our core belief systems. It is almost natural to feel like all is lost when we receive terrible news or encounter heartbreak. Our piece of mind feels like we are entitled to it. In that place we must find our inner strength and all of our power, rather than push deeper into the dark. In this song I hadn't found the power within to fight the darkness in my mind, but soon I would learn how to channel my pain and turn it into strength."
