Unlock the secrets of physical comedy in our upcoming class! While clowning and physical comedy are often used interchangeably, they are distinct art forms. Clowning infuses your comedic spirit with life, serving as a solid foundation, but it's not a prerequisite for mastering physical comedy—the structural backbone of hilarity.
Join our class to master the design and execution of various physical comedy events. Whether you're portraying characters in plays, films, or videos, or crafting your routines as a clown, stand-up comedian, variety performer, or TikTok star, this class is your gateway to comedic brilliance. Contrary to the notion that humor can't be taught, we believe that the design and execution of physical comedy are learnable skills. Unleash your artistic expression, have a blast, and rediscover the joy of acting.
Virginia Scott, during the pandemic, meticulously crafted a cutting-edge physical comedy curriculum accompanied by a handy handbook. Dive into the world of classic physical comedy turns, and then embark on creating your own. Explore categories such as problems with objects, takes, distraction, and flights of fancy. Learn how to develop these comedic games using rhythm, repetition, sequencing successes and failures, escalation, and audience engagement.
Discover the art of timing that propels you into a joyous and hilarious ride. Armed with these skills, you'll never be dull on stage or screen, even in the face of challenging scripts or directing. It's time to create your comedic playground and revel in the fun of performance once again!
