About After Orlando
Join us November 1, 2016 at 8pm in Studio 1 at the Granoff Center at Brown University for a staged-reading of new plays from noted international playwrights in response the shooting at Pulse Nightclub, June 12, 2016.
After Orlando is a coordinated international theatre action started by Missing Bolt Productions and NoPassport Theatre in New York with over 50 participating play readings happening in theatre across the country written in response to the shooting on June 12, 2016 in which 49 people were killed and 53 wounded inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The Providence production of After Orlando is presented by TAPS at Brown and The WIlbury Theatre Group, in association with Trinity/Brown Consortium and Rites and Reason Theatre, and will feature readings of new plays by Nathan Allen Davis, Jaisey Bates, Leah Nanako Winkler, Madeline Sayet, Erik Ehn, Oladipo Agbluaje, Caridad Svich, Rohina Malik, and Korde Tuttle. Plays will be acted and directed by local artists and will feature a musical performance by The Providence Gay Men’s Chorus. The event is free, donations will be collected at the door to support Youth Pride RI, a nonprofit support organization for LGBTQQ youths throughout Rhode Island.
